Good thing about buying the SmartKey™ lock:

1. Nobody can pick the lock if you get locked out.
2. You can rekey the lock yourself as many times as you want.
3. Lifetime mechanical and finish warranty. Meaning that, if a locksmith or you are unable to rekey this lock, or the key will not work anymore. You will get a new lock free from Kwikset.

Bad thing about buying the SmartKey™ lock:

1. If you get locked out or lose the key...the lock will have to be drilled out. This means you will have to buy a new lock.

The SmartKey™ deadbolt locks start about $30 each.
